Replaced if fault has occurred due to manufacturing issues. Replacements and warranty claims are only accepted if faults have occurred due to manufacturing- not wear and tear / lack of care.
Care:
Regular care is a must to prolong lifespan of footwear.
- Avoid wearing the same footwear everyday as humidity and bacteria from feet can speed up deterioration
- Use a boot jack to remove shoes
- Use boot trees to retain the shape of taller boots
If insoles get wet, remove and loosely stuff footwear with newspaper and allow to dry naturally, not in direct sunlight or near heat.
Rubber:
- Remove dirt with a clean damp cloth
- Use a rubber protecting spray
- Allow boots to dry naturally in a well ventilated area at room temperature. Not in direct sunlight or heat.
- If boots get wet inside they can be dried by stuffing loosely with newspaper to soak up moisture.
Leather:
- Remove dirt with a clean damp cloth
- Allow boots to dry naturally in a well ventilated area at room temperature. Not in direct sunlight or heat or leather can become dry and crack.
- If boots get wet inside they can be dried by stuffing loosely with newspaper to soak up moisture.
- Apply a leather conditioner evenly and sparingly across the leather. And allow to dry. DO NOT USE ON NUBUCK OR SUEDE.
- Apple a leather cream with a cloth using circular motions and allow to dry. DO NOT USE ON NUBUCK OR SUEDE
- Apply a waterproof spray in a well ventilated area. Making sure there is even coverage. Then allow to dry for 12 hours before using again.
Blundstone (Central Trade)
Normal Process:
- A customer receipt or invoice
- A close up picture of the fault.
- A picture of the label in the boot as it denotes a production number and date stamp
- A picture of the outsoles
- A side angle picture
- A top view picture
- Ask if customer is a UK resident
Replacements:
Boots will likely be wanted back for inspection prior to replacement/credit note.
Care:
Blundstone leathers are kept as close to their natural state as possible while having ‘water-resistant’ treatment applied to provide protection from the everyday elements. The boots should be cleaned and cared for regularly in order to maintain a high level of protection. The Thermal Series has more waterproof features but care is still essential to help maintain them
When using polish for the first time it is recommended that it is tested on an inconspicuous area to check how the polish affects the colour or appearance.
Renovating Cream = care for the finish on the leather. Nourishes and conditions to prevent leather drying out
- Black, brown and cherry are highly pigmented and are designed to maintain colour and finish of the leather.
- Cherry suitable for shiraz and redwood shades
- Rustic cream is a non colour based that can be used in the early stages for maintenance leather and colour.
Polish pad = provides shine to leather. DO NOT USE ON SUEDE OR NUBUCK
Waterproof spray = to protect all types of footwear from water and stains. Can be used on nubuck, suede and all leathers.
- Will not affect performance or breathability
- Dry fast formula
- Cleaning your boots after a day spent out of your home is crucial. Use only mild soapy water on the soles of your boots to help remove dirt and foreign objects.
- Regular cleaning and care will help to protect the leather upper of your boots.
- Smooth leather can be wiped down with a damp cloth.
- Suede and nubuck can be lightly brushed
Cottonmount
6 month warranty for manufacturing defects
Replacements are only covered from the original faulty purchase.
Normal Process:
- A customer receipt or invoice
- A picture of the fault.
- A picture of the label in the boot as it denotes a production number (PO…)
- A picture of the outsole
- The product code
- Fill in form: https://forms.monday.com/forms/6dbb82cee4bcd1d93bfcc9472b861e66?r=use1
Replacements:
Most likely to be credited with a genuine manufacturing fault- not subject to misuse, abuse, accidents, neglects or exposure to chemicals.
Care:
- Avoid scruffing the upper leather
- Avoid treading on anything with sharp edges that may damage the sole
- Do not store footwear under heavy or sharp items
- Do not use corrosive cleaning agents.
Regularly clean your footwear, removing any mud or dirt carefully- a clean damp cloth can be used for cleaning. The footwear can also be conditioned with a spray or cream. If the boots are exposed to chemicals, rinse them with water to avoid corrosion.
Store the footwear in a well ventilated area, avoiding extreme temperatures. If the footwear is wet then allow it to dry slowly and naturally. Exposure to heat for drying can distort the upper and cause the leather to crack.

Care:
https://www.dubarry.com/discover-dubarry/about/care-cleaning
Clean:
Remove any mud, manure and salt water with clean cold water using a brush to get rid of more stubborn dirt.
Apply the Dubarry Footwear Cleaner all over, including any fabric sections, and work-in, brushing vigorously until it lathers.
Rinse well with water and allow to dry naturally for 24 hours before any further treatment.
Condition:
Apply Dubarry Leather Conditioner all over with a clean cloth/sponge or soft brush, paying particular attention to the flex area of the foot.
It may take several layers of application depending on the condition of your footwear.
Clean off any excess fluid and allow to dry for 2-3 hours before next treatments.
Protect:
Spray Dubarry Footwear Protector all over your footwear, applying several layers, allowing absorption of each layer before applying the next.
Applying Dubarry Footwear Protector restores the water repellency of the leather.
This step is best completed outside or in a well-ventilated area.
Prolong:
For footwear that gets plenty of outdoor use we recommend that you use our Dubarry Leather Cream. HOWEVER this is for use on smooth/pull-up leathers ONLY. DO NOT USE ON SUEDE OR NUBUCK. Apply sparingly with a soft cloth or brush paying particular attention to the flex area that bends as you walk.
Gateway
All products covered for 2 years against manufacturing defects
Normal Process:
- A customer receipt or invoice
- A picture of the fault.
- A picture of the label in the boot as it denotes a production number
- A picture of the outsole
- Potentially a picture of the insole on both sides (top and bottom)
- If it’s a leak claim sometimes we will ask you to test the boots by initially letting them dry, taking out the insoles and then stuffing the boots with paper towels. Then submerging the boots for an hour or two. If no water comes in the boots are not leaking. Inspecting the outsole is also important as they can be punctured but the only way you can see this is if you bend and press the sole. This is because other rubber closes up when the sharp object is withdrawn after stepping on it.
Replacements:
Replacement only has remaining warranty cover from the date of original purchase.
When replaced if the original fault was potentially a user fault e.g. incorrect fitting causing rubbing and lining wear, if it were to happen again the customer will not be covered. If they believe issues to arise again then alternative boots can be suggested.
Care:
Rubber conditioner to be used
- Natural rubber needs feeding, similarly to leather. The natural rubber should be washed gently with clean water only and conditioned after cleaning.
- Natural rubber does not like extreme temperatures. Exposure to cold weather and heat sources e.g. radiators cause boots to dry out and encourage splitting.
For neoprene lined and waterproof boots, merino wool or synthetic breathable socks should be worn. Cotton socks should be avoided as they make your feet sweat and get cold which can cause abrasion to the lining of your boots and cause blisters.
Moisture build up can also be thought to be leaking. It is a build up of condensation inside the boot from sweating feet. Ask customers to dry out the insoles and linings to check it is not condensation.
GMK (Zamberlan)
Products have 1 year warranty from date of purchase.
Replacements do not receive new warranty. The warranty cover is still from the date of original purchase.
Normal Process:
- A customer receipt or invoice
- A picture of the fault.
- A picture of the label in the boot as it denotes a production number
- A picture of the outsole
- Potentially a picture of the insole on both sides (top and bottom)
Warranty claims are reviewed on a case by case basis. Looking for advice then email details to sales@gmk.co.uk
Replacements:
Replaced if fault has occurred due to manufacturing issues. Replacements and warranty claims are only accepted if faults have occurred due to manufacturing- not wear and tear / lack of care.
Care:
A very helpful guide: https://eu.zamberlan.com/page/boot-care-guide
Treatment should be used frequently. Light and frequent applications of conditioning rather than occasional and abundant.
If putting boots away for a long time then treat before.
For Gore-Tex items silicone based or similar treatments should be avoided as they can clog the membranes pores, impairing breathability. This will invalidate the Gore-Tex warranty.
Care Process:
- Remove laces
- Wash boots with lukewarm water. A mild soap can be used.
- Remove footbeds and let footwear dry naturally in a well ventilated, dry shaded place. DO NOT DRY CLOSE TO HEAT SOURCE - WARRANTY WILL BECOME INVALID (can cause leather to crack and soles/rubber toe caps adhesion to weaken)
- Use a conditioning spray or cream to the clean, dry boots and allow to soak in before using again.
CARING FOR THE OTHER PARTS OF THE SHOE
Synthetic Linings
No special care required. After use, clean with a warm, damp cloth and allow to dry.
Leather Linings
They offer superb comfort, but these linings must be treated at regular intervals to maintain their characteristics, as the acidity of perspiration may damage or alter them. For this reason, you should regularly clean the leather linings with a warm damp cloth, allow to thoroughly dry, and then apply a thin coat of conditioner.
Outsoles
Outsoles should be regularly inspected. Pay special attention to any stones which might have become lodged in the outsole, removing them carefully prior to subsequent use. Failure to do so may result in damage to the sole. Check the depth of outsole from time to time, as a significantly worn outsole may compromise safety . Most Zamberlan® boots can be resoled by specialist cobblers.
Laces
Laces will normally offer a fairly long service life, but may deteriorate and break over time and for this reason they should be inspected regularly.
It is possible to use laces that are not produced by Zamberlan as long as they meet GORE-TEX requirements to guarantee waterproofness. It is a sensible precaution to carry a spare set at all times, especially when walking in remote areas. Zamberlan® offers many different replacement laces.
Footbeds
The anatomic footbeds supplied with your footwear should be regularly cleaned, and replaced with genuine Zamberlan footbeds every six months or at least once a year.
Grubs
1 year warranty
Replacements are still within the original purchase's 1 year warranty.
It is a warranty not a guarantee- the workmanship of the boot is covered
Normal Process:
- A customer receipt or invoice
- A picture of the fault.
- A picture of the label in the boot as it denotes a production number (PO…)
- A picture of the outsole
If accepted a photo of the Grubs labels cut out must be sent to grubs before any issue/credit can be issued to the customer.
Replacements:
Customer has the right for a repair or replacement, unless the boot is damaged by accident or wear. This most likely occurs <183 days since purchase.
Proving manufacturing defects from 6-12 months since purchase is very difficult and likely to be voided.
Care:
All Grubs boots carry a tag advising the user to care for them, clean them and oil them. We ask that users wash their boots after each use to remove all the inground dirt. They should apply an aftercare product such as REVIVEX and store them away from any radiators or direct sunlight.
Rubber is made from Tree sap and crude oil, it is organically broken down by chemicals, fertilizers, oil, and anything that comes out of an animal. The enzymes in these substances grow and feed upon the rubber in the boots, drying them out and turning them back to dust. Adding heat increases the rate at which they work.
Washing removes enzymes and chemicals.
Oiling replaces natural plasticizers and inhibits enzyme growth.
For damage to soles or corrosion should not be valid before 6 months. This is most likely wear and tear/exposure to chemicals. Stormuse boot repair kits can be used to repair the boots.

Jack Pyke (Thatchreed)
1 year warranty
Normal Process:
- A customer receipt or invoice
- A picture of the fault.
- A picture of the label in the boot as it denotes a production number (PO…)
- A picture of the outsole
Replacements:
Replaced if fault has occurred due to manufacturing issues. Replacements and warranty claims are only accepted if faults have occurred due to manufacturing- not wear and tear / lack of care.
Care:
Try to store boots out of direct sunlight and away from direct heat sources such as radiators or hot pipes.
As this boot is made using natural rubber, they will naturally deteriorate with time. To slow this process it is always advisable washing the boots down with water (and a light detergent if necessary) regularly. Then when dry, spray them with a quality silicon-based spray. This will feed the rubber and stop it `crazing` and perishing, keeping it supple and waterproof. This will also help maintain the look and general appearance of the boot.
If you have a zip in your boots, make sure you can keep them clean and free from grit as this is the biggest cause of zip failure. The silicon spray can be also sprayed on the zip to help with this.
John Rothery
Aigle - 2 year warranty

Skellerup
1 year warranty
Replacements remain 1 year warranty
Normal Process:
- A customer receipt or invoice
- A picture of the fault.
- A picture of the label in the boot as it denotes a production number (PO…)
- A picture of the outsole
Visible defect - photographic evidence needed
Leaking boots without visible defects - need pressure tested by Skellerup. Inspection usually 1 week.
Neoprene lined boots - suggested leaking without visible signs could be condensation of foot. Get customer to dry insoles and check it isn’t condensation before returning boots. If there is a leak, they need to be returned to Skellerup for testing.
Replacements:
Skellerup prefer to replace than credit.
Replaced if fault has occurred due to manufacturing issues. Replacements and warranty claims are only accepted if faults have occurred due to manufacturing- not wear and tear / lack of care.

Weatherbeeta
No fixed warranty period due to a variety of use
Turnout rugs have a 3 year warranty (waterproofness/buckles etc.)
Replacements can be issued
Normal Process:
- A customer receipt or invoice
- A picture of the fault.
- A picture of the label in the boot as it denotes a production number (PO…)
- A picture of the outsole
Replacements:
Most likely a credit will be given but replacements can be issued.
Care:
The mud on your boots, if left, can rot away the leather and create holes. Animal waste can also rot leather.
Boot bags are always good to keep your boots tidy as well as keep them in a dry environment. Boots not stored somewhere dry and protected can cause them to become dusty, mouldy and corrode.
Clean - wipe boots with a damp cloth after each use to remove dust, dirt or any liquids they may have been exposed to during wear. If there are any zips, use a fine brush to remove any hair or dirt that may be caught.
Dry - Once cleaned make sure boots are left to dry naturally, away from any direct heat.
Condition - To prevent cracking, use a sponge or cloth and apply a leather conditioner to soften and moisturise your boots. Wipe off any excess conditioner. A conditioning spray can also be used.
Waterproofing - use a waterproofing spray to help protect against future dirt and water stains.
Always test conditioners, polish and waterproofers on a small inconspicuous area before covering the entire boot. And always read the instructions on the label before using.
