Step-by-Step Boot Care Guide

1. Remove Dirt & Debris

After every use, gently brush off any loose dirt or grit from your boots. Shake out debris from inside to prevent abrasion of the lining — especially important if you’ve been walking on rough terrain.

2. Dry Naturally

Never place Dedito boots next to radiators, open fires or direct heat sources. This can dry out and crack the leather or damage the internal Wind-TEX® waterproof membrane. Instead, let boots air-dry naturally in a warm, ventilated room.

Tip: Remove the insoles and stuff the boots with newspaper to help draw moisture out more quickly.

3. Condition & Protect the Leather

Once dry, apply a quality leather care wax or cream over the boots at least monthly (or more often if in heavy use). This helps keep the leather supple, reinforces waterproofing and prevents premature drying and cracking.

Avoid contact with harsh chemicals, saline substances or raw sewage — these can deteriorate leather if allowed to sit. If your boots come into contact with any such material, clean them promptly.

4. Caring for the Waterproof Membrane

Dedito boots use a Wind-TEX® waterproof membrane. To preserve this feature:

  • Shake and brush out dirt regularly.
  • Clip toenails before use to avoid inner abrasion.
  • Avoid exposure to sharp objects like barbed wire or nails.

5. Extra Cleaning Tips

  • For stubborn mud, allow boots to dry slightly before brushing.
  • Wipe lightly with a damp cloth to remove surface marks; avoid saturating the leather.
  • Re-wax after deep cleaning to restore protection.

Storage & General Boot Care Tips

  • Store boots in a cool, dry place away from heat or direct sunlight.
  • Keep them clean before storing — this helps prevent leather deterioration over time.
  • Use boot trees for extended storage to preserve shape.

Warranty & Maintenance Reminder

If you notice any fault or issue with your boots, contact us as soon as possible, ideally before damage worsens. Dedito’s warranty requires proof of purchase and photos when reporting issues.

Regular care helps protect your investment and ensures your Dedito boots last adventure after adventure.
