Glad Rags and Cartridge Bags - Autumn Update

We catch up with our ladies shooting expert, Mhairi, to find out what she has planned for Glad Rags and cartridge bags over the coming season.

Glad Rags & Cartridge Bags has an exciting few months ahead with three new stunning venues to add to our already impressive portfolio. Glad Rags and Cartridge Bags is unique and unlike other shooting clubs it does not hold its events at already established shooting grounds, instead it is like a roving syndicate holding its events at different, stunning exclusive venues.

Ladies shooting days this autumn

We start our autumnal series with an afternoon tea clay shoot at Saplinbrae House Hotel in Mintlaw, followed a few weeks later with a simulated game day at Kargarrie Estate. A simulated game day is where clays replace live birds. Simulated days are the perfect way to progress your shooting, they are fun, exciting and definitely get the heart pumping, all the fun without the feathers.

September sees our first visit to Findrack Sporting Estate, set in the most spectacular Deeside countryside we are very much looking forward to our afternoon picnic shoot. October is our “Shooting and Shopping” event at Gordon Castle Fochabers followed by another simulated game day at Dessmuir Estate.

November is a busy month with our 2nd birthday celebration weekend 12th /13th which is packed full of events for ladies and their friends and family. Driven day at Crathes estate for the novice game shot, dinner at Raemoir House Hotel and a clay shoot on the Sunday. It is also the final of the ArdMoor Challenge. Ladies have been submitting their scores over the year, their 4 best scores will be entered into the competition, there are three categories: experienced, improver and beginner. On 13th November the final shoot will take place and those scores will be the last that can be entered for the chance to win a £100 voucher for ArdMoor. Ladies who have never shot before are joining us all the time and it is also fantastic to see the progression and improvement in our team members during our simulated and driven days.

The autumn season is also a time for planning, as 2017 is looking bigger and better than I could ever have dreamt of for Glad Rags and Cartridge Bags.
